Smoke Testing with ASTM E1186 at TAMU–Kingsville

It’s Testing Tuesday! Today we’re featuring ASTM E1186, which also ties into our Blower Door Testing. In these photos, we’re finding leaks for our friends at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. How do we perform this testing? Glad you asked… If we find a leak in your building, we use this “smoke” test to pin point the exact location of the leak. We do this by using the blower door fans to pressurize the building, which then forces the “fog” or “smoke” out of the openings and makes it easy for our guys to find where the leaks are.
